For the first day at the Sports Shooter Academy, I shot a few gymnastics portraits, some volleyball action, and a volleyball portrait.
The first session, portrait lighting with Matt Brown, focused on the photographer-subject relationship. Each student had five minutes to conceptualize, light, and shoot a portrait of Cal State Fullerton gymnastic Kori Underhill.

After gymnastics, I went to the beach volleyball session. While the light wasn’t great (1pm, no clouds), I was happy with the action I was able to shoot.
