After a near rain-out for the first day of the two-day competition, I spent most of today covering track and field.

Above is one of only a dozen or so images I shot the first day of prelims, before deciding to save my equipment and wait until today.

Today’s weather was much better, with just enough clouds to keep the light nice and make for good backgrounds for ground remotes.

When the clouds did take over, it was only briefly, and it was a little more flattering than the early-afternoon sun.

One of my favorite things to do during Ohio athletic events is frame action shots with university landmarks in the background, even if they are out of focus. Here’s an example, with the Convo behind the pole vault.
